Predicting Electrical Compatibility
Evonet Energy has a patented system for encapsulating all of
the electrical and mechanical characteristics of an electricity
supply or load appliance into a single machine-readable data
packet.
You might think of this as a way to formalise a Technical
Specification for an electricity supply system or a load, in a way
that can be used and interpreted automatically.
A smartphone app can compare the label for an electricity supply
with the label for an appliance, and anticipate any incompatibilities
that might arise. This means that:
•
Users will not buy unsuitable appliances for their
limited electricity supply
•
They will be discouraged from trying something by being
told if it will be unsafe or will damage their equipment.
•
A market will emerge for converters between
competing types of off-grid electricity system
With this system, anyone with a smartphone – even someone
with absolutely no understanding of Volts or Amps – will be
able to manage their electrical installation safely, and make
good use of every last watt and watt-hour available to them.
