UK Public Sector Projects
Over the period 2001-2004 we acted as mentors and project auditors for around 200 projects funded by the New Opportunities Fund (now renamed the Big Lottery Fund) for the UK Lottery. These have included the following programmes:
- The NOF-Digi Programme, funding the digitisation of our cultural heritage,
- Mentoring for various NOF-funded rural broadband access projects, providing an experience of broadband Internet connectivity for rural and disadvantaged communities, for example, Enniskillen in Northern Ireland.
- The Community Access to Lifelong Learning (CALL) Programme, providing access to lifelong learning on the Internet
Contracts for this work have been via the British Educational Communications Technology Agency (BECTA)
We have also provided technical helpdesk services to NIACE, the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (England and Wales), for the Wireless Outreach Network project, a DfES-funded initiative to allow rural communities to experience broadband Internet access.
